"My Dr./Therapist/Psychologist/Psychiatrist told me MY PTSD is impossible to heal and I'll have to live like this forever"
I hear this way too often and on this episode of PTSD TV Brad and I debunk this harmful myth and show you that no matter what you've been told before, it IS possible to heal PTSD.
Being told it's impossible for you to heal is one of the most dangerous things to be told about recovery, but it could also be the very thing that pushes you to full recovery...
You read that right... being told something like this is typically a make or break point in someones recovery journey. All too often it's a breaking point, but with the right mindset it's a making point.
In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth so you can move forward with your recovery even if you've been told your situation is hopeless and you just have to learn to live like this.
Hope you enjoy the episode!

"The healing journey itself should not be traumatic."
On this episode of PTSD TV Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery... The belief you have to remember or relive trauma to heal.
I'll let you know right now that that's not the truth.
But if you feel this way, you're not alone.. This is a myth that personally stopped my recovery journey in its tracks more than a few times.
This myth stops a lot of people from seeking help for this PTSD because that either don't even know where they'll start on their healing journey or are too afraid that they'll have to go through everything all over again to make any progress...
In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth so you can move forward with your recovery even if you don't remember what hurt you.
Hope you enjoy the episode!

Today Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery...
The belief that other things in their life block them from healing. We lovingly call it "alphabet soup".
PTSD, CPTSD, PNES, BPD, GAD, etc. are all labels that can seriously hut someones chances at full recovery...
This tricky because PTSD is on of the most misdiagnosed things in the field of mental health...
If your misdiagnosed, how are you going to know what help you really need!?
You'll likely end up confused and feeling stuck with a lack of direction and not knowing where to turn or what to do. In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth for you and give you some incredible steps to move forward without even having a "diagnosis"!
Hope you enjoy the episode!

On the call we'll talk specifically about YOUR situation. We'll help you get clarity on where you are right now and where you'd like to be on the other side of PTSD. Then we'll help you bridge the gap between the two and give you resources to get you *exactly* where you need to go in the shortest amount of time possible.

PTSD MYTH #2: "My Trauma Is DIFFERENT, I Can't Heal"
Friday Apr 10, 2020
Friday Apr 10, 2020
Today Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery... The belief that their trauma is different (not as bad or worse than others) and therefore can't heal.
This is an especially tricky one because if you think your trauma is not as bad as someone else's you could be telling yourself...
"WOW what I went through wasn't nearly as bad as that person's, I don't really have anything to complain about..."
And if you think like this you're not going to do the things you need to do to heal. You'll likely just think that you need to "get over it", stop complaining, and move on with life.
And if you think that your trauma is worse than someone else's trauma you could be telling yourself...
"Yeah, well you could heal, but what I went through was MUCH worse than what you went through..."
And again you would prevent yourself from healing because you'll think that you are too broken to heal. So in this episode Brad and I break this harmful belief for you and give you some incredible steps to move forward without this negative internal talk!
Hope you enjoy the episode!

PTSD MYTH #1: It's impossible to heal PTSD, it changes your brain.
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
Welcome to our first PTSD Myth Marathon episode! Myth #1 is: It’s impossible to heal because PTSD changes your brain.
Brad and I are going to go through the top 13 or so myths about PTSD that cause people to feel hopeless and out of control.
The first PTSD myth we cover is one that I hear ALL the time from people who have PTSD, “Its impossible to heal because PTSD changed my brain and is permanently damaged”.
This myth is particularly dangerous because it’s actually half true!
If you have heard this myth, or believe in this myth, then this episode will really help you break that limiting belief. And thinking that PTSD changes your brain is a major limiting belief that might even be the reason why you feel hopeless or why you’ve given up on trying to heal.
In order to move forward with your healing you must learn how to identify these false beliefs and myths about PTSD, or else they could drag you down into a dark hopeless hole… a place where I’ve been before, but not a place you need to be.
So I hope this episode helps give you some valuable insight into your recovery journey!
And if you liked this make sure to stay tuned for the rest of the series where we uncover even more myths that could be holding you back from full recovery!

In today’s episode Brad and I talk about 3 things you can do to help yourself stay motivated while you’re stuck inside during COVID-19.
Being isolated can feel lonely, and depressing at times, but there is also a huge opportunity to it as well. The #1 goal for everyone with PTSD should be to heal their PTSD.
This may seem obvious to you, but in all honesty most people don’t take their healing seriously… and if they want to, they just can’t seem to get themselves motivated to take action everyday.
So in this episode we’re going to teach you a few simple strategies that will help you stay motivated when you’re stuck alone at home!
I hope you enjoy today’s episode!

Saturday Apr 04, 2020
Saturday Apr 04, 2020
We’re back! Today Brad and I talk about what you can do to keep your mind and body sharp during this COVID-19 crisis. This is a hard time for a lot of people…
It’s a time where a lot of external forces are limiting and controlling what you can and can’t do. The important thing is not what’s being taken away, but what you still have.
So today we’re going to show you 6 things that you STILL have during this crisis, things you can still control, and things that will allow you to stay mentally and physically healthy for as long as this thing lasts.
I’m excited to bring this to you because most news about COVID-19 today (99.999999% of it) is just straight up negative.
And if you’re not careful this new could take you out and put you in a hopeless, depressed, catatonic state… But it doesn’t have to be this way. There are a lot of opportunities to heal and grow during this coronavirus, you just have to open your eyes to the opportunities.
So without further ado…
Here’s what we’re covering
- Why it’s okay to feel anxious and scared, and how it can actually help
- How to accept the current reality and come to peace with it
- How to avoid the news and eliminate all other sources of negative inputs during the crisis
- Why creating a routine is essential, and what things you need to include in your routines to stay mentally and physically healthy
- How to stay connected with the ones you love
- How to stay positive, find the opportunities, and how to focus your mind on all the good that’s still in the world
This is one heck of an episode, and one you definitely don’t want to miss!
If you’re struggling with your PTSD and other emotions during COVID-19 then this episode will help bring peace to your mind and body.

Every week I do a live Q&A for all my clients and one question asked was about how to handle these stressful times.
My answer was you don't have to be stressful!
I also gave some practical tips to help people cope and manage these times better.

The 4 Commitments For A Successful PTSD Relationship | PTSD TV Relationships
Friday Nov 01, 2019
Friday Nov 01, 2019
Are you committed to your healing?
What does commitment mean to you? To us commitment means that you remove all other options from the table...you stop dabbling and you go all in and hold nothing back.
It's time to commit to yourself, your healing, your relationship, and to never giving up until you fully recover.
Brad and I both constantly recommitted throughout our recovery (and beyond), and it was a key part that pushed us through our low points.
Interested in learning the 4 commitments needed for a successful recovery?
I hope you enjoy today's episode!

5 Ways To see The Best In Every Situation | PTSD TV Recovery Workshop
Thursday Oct 31, 2019
Thursday Oct 31, 2019
At every moment you have the choice...
To see the good, or to see the bad.
In every situation there is bad AND good...but it's up to you to choose what you want to focus on. Many of us get stuck in pessimistic and negative cycles that only cause us to hurt ourselves more.
Today Brad and I talk about 5 ways to shift your thinking to see the best in every situation, no matter how bad it gets.
This is an essential skill that you should be implementing daily to change your negative brain, positive.
Here are the 5 questions to ask yourself:
1 - What's the lesson I can learn from this?
2 - What can I be grateful for right now?
3 - How will this make me stronger?
4 - How can I turn this into something good?
5 - What the new opportunity?
Ask yourself these questions whenever you reach a roadblock in your recovery, they will help you move past them faster and easier...and you won't beat yourself up the entire time either!
I hope you enjoy this episode!
To your recovery!
