Struggling with PTSD? Check out my 100% free and helpful training here: https://www.overcomingptsd.info/go
About a year ago I teamed up with The Mighty to put together a PTSD Depression Masterclass. The Masterclass went so well, I actually still use the exact training to show my clients how to beat PTSD Depression.
The reason I'm writing this is because since Covid-19 started, I've had a lot of people reach out for resources on depression.
People saying things like... "I feel more hopeless than ever" "I don't have energy to do even the most basic of things" and "I feel like I'm fighting myself everyday and I don't want to fight all the time"
If you feel this way the good news is you're not alone and I cover all of that in the Masterclass
Here's exactly what I cover:
• How to generate energy from thin air
• How to ensure you get out of bed every day
• How to build hope when all seems lost
• How to bring joy back into your life
• How to face the resistance of depression
I've been wanting to share this for a while but had to get a few "okay's" before I released it to the public
Watch The Mighty training to learn how you can beat PTSD Depression so you can stop fighting yourself and start living!
I believe in you always,
Kayleen
P.S.
Here's what one of my clients said about it just the other day in our Facebook community: "I started with the Relief tools section and I think it was in the Depression module...It made a huge difference! ...gradually it got easier and after a few days it felt good.
If you haven't tried these things, I encourage you to do so. They really work!"

Have you ever wondered why you go on social media to find help for your PTSD but always leave feeling worse off?
I put together this video training to answer that question exactly. It's all about how to avoid making PTSD worse on social media, specifically when it comes to the "PTSD Community".
Here's what I cover in the training:
- 3 delusions of sufferers everywhere
- Why these can cost you everything
- 4 social media rules to live by (to ensure you don't get worse)
PTSD groups, communities, blogs, forums and websites can be extremely beneficial or can be the reason you find yourself stuck or at rock bottom. Watch the training below to lean how you can get the most out of PTSD communities without harming yourself further!
I believe in you always,
Kayleen

Have you ever wondered if you're actually making progress on your recovery journey?
I know recovery can be a "one day at a time" process sometimes, but it's important to look up sometimes to see how far you've come and if you're even on the right track.
Today I put together a training encouraging you to do that and showing you what to look for...
Here's what I cover in the training:
- The difference between coping & healing
- 10 signs you're making progress (& what healing should look like)
- A common "trap" that leaves people almost healed & feeling stuck for years or even decades
The truth is, taking the time to reflect, and see how far I had progressed was a really important part of my recovery journey. It showed me how far I had come and allowed me to see if I was even on the right track still.
After all, you don't look at a compass once and then hope you're heading in the right direction for the rest of the trip. You check it again and again to make sure you're on track, and if you're not correct your course.
PTSD is no different!
I believe in you always,
Kayleen

Have you ever felt like I did on my recovery?
For me, recovery felt like I was working really hard to heal and get better but no matter how hard I tried I always ended up getting hurt or self sabotaging in the end. I couldn't figure out why I kept ending up back in the same spot day after day and year after year.
I felt trapped.
If you've felt this way too, you're not alone. Years ago I found out that a lot of people feel this way too... So many in fact that I had to make the solution part of my PTSD recovery program - Broken to Unbreakable
Today I want to share something really special with you...
How to get out of this trap and make real true progress In one of my Broken to Unbreakable live community Q&A's recently, I extensively covered 2 worksheets that I have all my clients complete to get out of this trap.
These are the foundational actions you need to take to solve this problem.
Here's what they are:
"The Commitment Contract" - How to use the forces of pain and pleasure to work for you instead of against you
"Designing Your Recovery Hero" - How to be intentional about who you're becoming to ensure you don't end up "trapped" in PTSD forever I'm even going to share the actual worksheets so you can download them and take action on them yourself. (links below) Remember that action is the most important part of the recovery journey.
I believe in you always,
Kayleen

Many people feel like they have pressure to be strong because they're moms, dr.'s, military, men, or from certain cultures....
But what does "strong" really mean?
Does it mean you can't heal?
Or that you can't express emotion?
If you feel like healing has to be different for you because of your profession, status, gender, race or anything else, join Brad and I as we explore where this myth comes from and what true strength really means.

Here's an interview we did for a potential NY Times article about PTSD the end of last year.
We talked about our history with PTSD, our family upbringing, our favorite books, and what we think needs to be done with the mental health industry as a whole.
Pretty interesting stuff!
Here's what we were asked:
1. Can you please tell me a little more about yourselves and how you came into each other’s lives? What are your interests, quirks and hobbies? (You can be sure I will ask a more specific question to learn more about you during each interview.) I would love to know more about you, your separate individual answers as well as your unified answer as a couple.
2. What are your family backgrounds like? Do you believe your history and child development to be relevant to your experiences with PTSD?
3. Was vulnerability a part of your family units? What might you have to say about what you learned emotionally from others as a young person?
4. What are your favorite/top ten books, articles, media (in that order) that have influenced your coaching practice and your understanding of healing PTSD?
5. Have you heard of trauma-informed education? If so, can you please let me know where you heard about this, how this applies to your work or personal experiences and what resources you recommend?
6. What can you share with me about your coaching practice? What is the nature of your work, how do you reach people, and who are your clients?
7. If you entered into my position as a photojournalist this week, what provocative questions might you ask from your depth of knowledge in the field?
I hope you enjoy the interview!

Does PTSD ever heal, or does it go into remission just to come out later in life? The answer is clear, but for many it's not.
